MUSQ Skincare Review

Social Media, good or bad? According to the latest news Instagram has created a new “buy now/shopping” feature on the app, what a complete game changer. Well, it is for people like me who tend scope out brands, products and food via Insta rather than physical retail shopping. Like most of you, my attention span is NIL so apps like Instagram, Pintrest and Snapchat have been lifesavers for quick answers. The latest beauty product I’ve come across is an Australian skincare and cosmetics brand called MUSQ, I don’t know why I hadn’t heard of it earlier especially since I’ve been on the all natural, animal cruelty free, organic skincare binge for over 18 months now.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I love Australian made and owned products, so adding MUSQ to my beauty skincare routine was no problem. To be honest, the packaging of their products is what drew me in but when I ordered my first product (revitalize serum) I was instantly in love with skin, my skin, all over again. A bit about the brand, MUSQ is an Australian made and owned, natural make-up and skincare company that began in Adelaide in 2007. Their products are Natural, Vegan, and Choose Cruelty Free accredited. They don’t contain any Petrochemicals, Petroleum, Sulphates, Silicones, Parabens, Talc, Fillers, Mineral oils or Artificial colours. I love that their aim is to encourage people to make small changes to improve their health, mind & well being along with our environment. With the crazy lifestyle most of us try to keep up with, it’s hard to find local brands that promote such a simple Philosophy “keep your food, thoughts and skin clean!"

Some of you may know that for your skin to really accept or reject a product, you have to allow it up to 10 days to see any kind of results, for some people it may take longer but for some lucky few, they may see it straight away. I have been testing out their Revitalize Serum (AUD $42.00) and Facial Moisturizer Gel (AUD $30.00) for the last couple of weeks and so far, so good. It's hard for me to trust skincare products because of my adult acne prone skin, but I was very impressed by the serum just after one use. I like to use a few more more drops of serum at night more so than for the day only because while you sleep, that's when your skin goes in repair and restoration mode. I don't use toner (it's not for everyone) so after washing my face, I apply the serum then the moisturizer gel. At first I was getting a little bit of a tingling sensation but it didn't last too long and once my skin soaked in the gel moisturizer my skin felt firm and super plump. Overall, I would definitely recommend MUSQ to anyone wanting to trying natural skincare at an affordable price, I can't wait to try more of their skincare range and cosmetics.

Also for those wondering whether MUSQ is safe enough to use on on skin after treatments, MUSQ just answered your question -

What products are safe after salon treatments?
Peels and dermabrasion can be great to improve skin problems. They also leave the skin more vulnerable, especially to sun damage, and more readily able to absorb what is applied to it. Regular cosmetics contain toxic and irritating synthetics, which will be more readily absorbed by the treated skin. Nasty! The skin is also then more likely to react to the ingredients, such as getting a rash or even blistering. Ouch! Only totally natural products that are also safe, soothing, healing and protective should be applied. Although minerals are soothing, when mineral makeup has bismuth oxychloride, carmine, talc, parabens or other problem ingredients it is counter-productive! Musq is ideal after salon treatments, having the properties needed by vulnerable skin but without any of the nasties.
