March Makeup Picks

Another month passing by, can you believe how quickly the year is going? For those who follow me on Instagram, you'll see me post every now and then my makeup picks for a particular type of finish. Check out my current faves for a full coverage matte finish and full coverage dewy finish. What are your favourite products for matte and dewy makeup looks?

  • Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer - This satin-finish, oil-free mineral primer creates a porcelain-smooth complexion, that will give your foundation longevity like no other whilst minimising shine and protecting against sun damage.
  • NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation - A revolutionary foundation that defies expectation by combining sixteen hours of full-coverage wear with a weightless feel and radiant finish.
  • Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer - Perfect for concealing the most extreme flaws, such as scars, severe skin damage, beauty spots, depigmentation or birthmarks. It can even hide tattoos. Waterproof and long-lasting, it holds even under extreme conditions thanks to its perfectly stable formula. It evens the skin tone and camouflages imperfections for a long period of time.

  • Arbonne Face Primer - This luxurious makeup primer glides on to visually diminish the appearance of fine lines and pores, creating a smooth surface.
  • NARS Sheer Glow Foundation - A master of the runway, this hydrating foundation brightens and evens skin tone, whilst providing all day coverage with a natural, radiant finish
  • MAC Pro Longwear Concealer - A lightweight fluid concealer that provides medium to full coverage with a comfortable, natural matte finish. Colour-true formula lasts up to 15 hours. Helps conceal and correct the look of under-eye circles, and discolorations

Somwhere in Australia

Since mid last year, I told myself I should go on more road trips, hikes and generally explore the great outdoors. I live on a giant island, so why not? As an Aussie growing up in Melbourne, the bustling culture, city scape, good restaurants and social events can take us away from all things nature and we forget how lucky we have it. Our beaches, ocean views and stunning landscapes are some of the most beautiful in the world and literally in our backyard. So explore I did and came across this...

I was away in Sydney for a few days with a family friend and spent four days exploring. This day we drove down to Royal National Park, took a hike and three hours later found what they call "Wedding Cake Rock". Beautiful, no words except #thisisAustralia

The Gamechanger: Klara Cosmetics

Call me a late bloomer and NOT YOUR typical Makeup blogger/guru/Youtuber but yes, I finally got my hands on some of these babies. They're called Kiss Proof Lips, Klara Cosmetics’ cult and most-wanted product. If you're a frequent reader of makeup blogs, you'll notice that the trend for liquid lipsticks has grown over the last 6-9 months and I couldn't help myself but to jump on the bandwagon too!

Salon Melbourne 2015

If you've heard of IMATS before, Salon Melbourne is a similar trade show but includes all beauty professions (hair, nail technicians, spa and salon owners) under one roof and only beauty professionals can attend this event which happens annually. As a freelancer, it's up to me to keep up with current beauty trends, new products and tools as part of my own professional development. This year, Salon Melbourne was held at The Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre in the CBD. To be honest, this trade expo doesn't phase me, I go in and out just to buy kitty replenishments and this year I found that there were hardly any cosmetic stalls to choose from but nonetheless I did get a few goodies. The usual MUFE, Kryolan and Crown Brush stands were there but there was just nothing exciting this year until Donna Mee came on stage to do her spill on Hollywood Makeup Secrets. So glad I stayed an extra hour to watch her, she's probably one of the most experienced and honest makeup Artist I've had the pleasure of listening to, I would have loved to do one of her classes/workshops in Melbourne but timing just wasn't right this year for me. Anyway check out my pics from Sunday
