Wanderlust adventures: Indonesia Part II - Lombok & Gilis

“Nobody can discover the world for somebody else. Only when we discover it for ourselves does it become common ground and a common bond and we cease to be alone.” – Wendell Berry

Singapore slings

Throwing it back to a conversation I had with a chef at one of Melbourne's popular restaurants, Singapore is somethin' else. Yes, it's part of Asia but it definitely doesn't feel like it. This immaculate city is a combination of all the best things in the world, not to mention food. When you're importing beef from Australia and wine from Spain, you know you're getting a taste of some of the best. Here are some snaps from my trip back in 2014.

Wanderlust adventures: Indonesia Part I - Bali Dreaming

It's hard to resist traveling to Asia more-so than other parts of the world for us Aussies because it's cheap, easy, and not in Australia, lol. Not to mention, Indonesia is our closest Asian neighbour (5 hour direct flight form Melbourne) and Jetstar deals are too good not to take advantage of. Bali has never been on top of my list in terms of travel however the flight deals got the better of me and I booked right away. Like anywhere I travel to, whether it's local, interstate or overseas, I like to keep an open mind and expect nothing. Aussies love Bali and now I know why, the Balinese people are incredibly hospitable, friendly and don't be offended if they ask you personal questions it's just their way of getting to know you. Anyway, here's a quick recap of my trip back in April-May...

Shop: The Traveller

I am forever looking for ways to pack less and less beauty products every time I go away, this time I'm traveling interstate over the Queen's Birthday long weekend (Happy Birthday Queen, thank you for this holiday). My last trip was about a month ago to beautiful Indonesia (blog post still in progress), weather was hot and humid yet I still found a way to wear makeup most days #makeuplife. I've mentioned before that packing my makeup travel bag is almost impossible for me, hence I almost always over pack. Lucky for us, beauty companies like MECCA make it simple and have recently come out with an all in one pack, making it so much easier for indecisive ladies like myself. I might even pick one up for my trip this weekend....

"The covetable set features the Mecca Cosmetica edit of our favourite travelling necessities housed in carry on-compliant sizes to ensure you look and feel your best on-the-go." This set includes;
- Lip de Luscious SPF 25 Lip Protectant, 7ml
- Soft Focus Smoothing Primer, 15ml
- Beauty Sleep Artistry Eye Brightener
- To Save Face SPF 30+ , 30ml (even in winter we need sunscreen)
- Clean Slate Remover, 35ml
- Clean Slate Face Washing Cloth

To complete this pack I might add in a tinted moisturizer/lightweight foundation, creamy concealer and water resistant mascara. To shop the rest of the Traveller Series, click here

Wanderlust adventures: Coconut Vibes, Hawaii

They say home is where the heart is and my heart felt just right. Hawaii, I loved you before I even stepped foot, this has to be one of my top happy places I've had the pleasure of visiting during my travels.

Here are my top 5 things to do while in Hawaii (but not limited to);
1. Hire a car and do a day trip around Oahu
2. Take a hike - so many volcanoes, peaks and trails you can do on any of the Islands
3. North Shore food trucks - You may have heard great reviews on Giovanni's Shrimp Truck but there's so much more on offer, you just have to look
4. KCC Farmer's Market - a good route is to do a sunrise hike up the Diamond Head then have breakfast at the KCC Farmer's Market, you're gonna need that fuel afterwards.
5. If you're looking for total isolation and relaxation - take the ferry from Maui to Lanai and check out their untouched beaches or stay overnight at the Four Seasons

So much more you can do but those are my faves!
